Description

These stories and ideas on life all threaten to fade if not penned down. Even so, to put my thoughts in pen is to share them, and send them off in the wind.

Salt' n' Light Ministries

We firmly believe that to carry out the great commission (Matt. 28:16-‐20) we must fulfill the great commandment (Matt. 22:36-‐40). Loving our neighbor as ourself requires that we look out for the good of our fellow man; spiritually, physically, emotionally and materially and this is the philosophy that drives our ministry strategy.
Salt ‘n’ Light will provide places of hope throughout the upstate of South Carolina. Through our internal programs and various partnerships these centers will provide hope and empowerment for families and individuals in need. These places of hope will combine the efforts SALT ‘n’ LIGHT ministries and partner organizations to provide programs the strengthen families and individuals for Christ and the betterment of the community.
Our first focus is on addressing immediate needs with emergency assistance. Initial services that will be provided will include a central site for case management, an emergency food pantry, clothing for adults and children, weekly meals and light household items.
The next, and perhaps more important step, is to enable individuals and families to improve their situation for good. Beyond just providing for physical needs, we offer financial literacy and basic budgeting classes, biblical counseling, computer education and job counseling as well as assistance with resumes, job search and interviewing skills.
We also offer spiritual guidance and prayer as well as recovery and support ministries for those trapped in the cycle of addiction and despair.
Our vision is to provide a place of hope for families and individuals in need.
Our mission is to share the love of Christ, without discrimination, to those in need by first providing emergency relief and then, through education and rehabilitation, equipping them with the tools necessary to create lasting change in their lives.
Our purpose is to offer God’s hope and a loving community through a partnership of ministry services and an inviting, worshiping community to families and individuals who are hurting from poverty and injustice.

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

– Matthew 25:40
